It’s new. It’s better. It’s now. Important update: The Big Blue Bus Swipe and Ride Program Big Blue Bus now requires that you “swipe” your student ID card in order to ride the BBB Any Time, Any Line. You are responsible to activate your card!

Big Blue Bus (BBB)Thanks to SMC and the Associated Students, SMC students with a current student ID and AS sticker can ride the Big Blue Bus… Any line, Any time! Visit the BBB website for schedules and other details. To use the BBB service, you need to “swipe” (activate) your student ID card. It’s YOUR responsibility to activate your card. If you’re a new student with AS membership, your student ID should already be active. If it isn’t—or if you’re a continuing student using a student ID with a magnetic strip—you need to swipe your card at the Bursar’s office or a designated station. See www.smc.edu/swipe for locations and other information. |
|
ZimrideSplit the cost, spare the air, and share your ride through Zimride, the social networking site exclusive to the SMC community. Simply sign up at zimride.smc.edu using your SMC student email address, and enter your commute and ride preferences. Zimride will match you with other SMC students with the same commute. You can even see a student’s profile or Facebook page to find the optimal match! |

Bike SMCMake the most of the local climate: Ride your bike to SMC! The City of Santa Monica has expanded its bike lanes and improved safety for bicyclists. At the SMC Bike Park—located on Pearl Street, across from Campus Police—you’ll find 400 bike spaces, 60 skateboard slots, a hydration station, and a DIY repair station (a current AS sticker provides free “stand time” and support through Bikerowave). Bike racks are also located by the ESL building at the southwest corner of campus, at both ends of the Science Complex, and near the Business building, Parking Structure 3, and the Art Complex. Be sure to lock your bike in an approved area. Bike riding on campus is strictly prohibited. Visit the bike website for maps and information on bike safety and resources. |

ParkingIf you drive to SMC, allow extra time for traffic and parking (and check out our FREE intercampus shuttle service). To park on ANY of the SMC campuses, you MUST have a current SMC parking decal. Parking decals for the main campus cost $85 for the Spring or Fall semester, and $45 for the Summer or Winter session. Parking decals for SMC’s Bundy, Airport Arts, and Performing Arts Center campuses are FREE. Parking decals may be requested through Corsair Connect, or picked up in person at the Bursar’s office. See the parking website for detailed information. IMPORTANT: Parking is offered on a first-arrival, space-available basis (a parking decal does NOT GUARANTEE you a parking space). The SMC parking decal IS NOT VALID FOR PARKING ON NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS (and the fines for doing so are quite costly). |

SMC ShuttlesAll SMC campuses are connected by FREE shuttle service (current SMC ID required). The Big Blue Bus Sunset Ride connects the Bundy campus with the main campus and a shuttle runs between the Performing Arts Center and the main campus. For shuttle locations, routes, and schedules, see the shuttle webpage. |
