“Brian Rajski teaches a great class in English. He gets excited about what he’s teaching, but he also stays on subject, and he makes sure that everyone understands the material.”
“People at SMC, and the atmosphere in general, are very friendly. There’s no rudeness, and when you need help, you just ask and you get it.” But the legendary good-times vibe at SMC wasn’t what made Enzo Moran choose the College. “Mainly, I came here because of financial reasons. I was accepted at St. John’s University in New York, but my family didn’t have the money. So I was able to make a deal with UC Berkeley that, if I spent my first two years at SMC, then I could definitely transfer up there.”
Business is the future for Enzo, and he states, “Berkeley’s Haas School of Business is one of the best in the country. It’s right here in California, and I love California!” His reasons for going into the field of Business are quite pragmatic. “I just figured that this is quite a secure field to get into—even with all the failing banks! I mean, tough times will come and go, but there’s always going to be business happening. And besides, that’s where the money is.”
Enzo was born in LA, but his parents came here from El Salvador. And he reports that his mom and dad are quite pleased with his direction in life. “I think they’re very happy and proud that I’m going the college route, and I know they really want to see me become a success.” Success—on one level—comes to Enzo through simple interaction with other SMC students. “I play and write music with some friends here, and I’m also getting into acting. I’ve been in some student films, and it’s great to meet the people involved in those sorts of projects. It’s easy to express your creativity here, and all you have to do is to just reach out a little.”
