SMC’S "CELEBRATE AMERICA":
EARLY INDEPENDENCE DAY
(NOTE: SMC's Independence Day festivities are held early, on July 1)
Don't miss the spectacular fireworks and entertainment of "Celebrate America" – the popular outdoor festival at Santa Monica College that honors Independence Day – to be held Saturday, July 1. The event is free but donations are welcome.
The celebration – the only one of its kind in Santa Monica – will feature a spectacular fireworks show and entertainment by the Tom Nolan Band, a rock group, and the smooth jazz sounds of Anthony Long.
The festivities will be held at SMC’s Corsair Field, 16th Street and Pico Boulevard. Gates open at 5 p.m. and entertainment starts at 6 p.m. The fireworks – by Pyro Spectaculars – will be at dusk.
Attendees may bring picnic dinners or purchase
from one of the many food vendors. Alcoholic beverages, glass containers,
barbecues and fireworks are prohibited.
