A BRIGHT PROMISE FOR ARTS EDUCATION
The Madison campus is home to performing and visual arts classes,
public performances and exhibits, professional training, The SMC Music Academy, and community
arts education.
The Madison Project will enhance the existing program,
providing performing and rehearsal space for Santa Monica College
theater, dance and music programs and allowing for lectures, master
classes, K-12 enrichment programs, community performances, and professional
presentations.
The design of the theater will support presentations of
theater, dance, voice, recital, chamber orchestra, and uses such
as classroom, lecture, film, and community events.
Additionally, the Pete and Susan Barrett Art Gallery features exhibitions
of professional and student art work and photography. These exhibits
change about ten times each year; admission to the gallery is free
and open to the public.
