Artwork
in the Theater
The theater has been granted a generous “permanent
loan” by Martin Sosin of 9 stunning Sam Francis prints.
Here is a sample of two of the works included in the gift:
We are proud to announce that Werner and Mimi Wolfen have donated a new commission of an art piece by renowned Santa Monica based artist Tony Berlant. We are honored to have the opportunity to exhibit a piece of this caliber. Mr. Berlant has works represented in many private and public collections, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C.; Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Design
Each performing art brings its own special demands to the
design of a performing arts facility. Voice recitals require
a room with a sufficient volume for resonance and overtones;
theater requires wings, dressing rooms, and an overhead
area; chamber orchestra requires a certain stage area; and
so on.
Here are some sketches from
the architect of the project, Renzo Zecchetto.
