Remember that in addition to the 20 hours of community service, you need to satisfy your committee requirement (which can be substituted by two fundraisers). The available committees are listed below.

A. S. Movie Night Committee

This committee will organize and coordinate the scheduled Movie Nights. This will include setting up the event and cleaning up afterwards.

  • Set up the tables, chairs, the television, and the popcorn machine before the event and put them back after the movie ends.
  • Be free on Tuesdays from 3:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Banquet Committee
Banquet Committee


This is a very responsible committee but at the same time it’s very fun. My committee
members and I are organizing the whole Banquet social. . We need to be creative to come up with exciting and interesting themes, and
decoration ideas for the banquet. On the day of the banquet, we need to set up the banquet hall
beautifully, decorate a photo booth, and make centerpieces for 25 tables depending on the theme,
and at the end clean everything up.

OBJECTIVES:

Organize, plan and prepare for the banquet, make sure the banquet runs smoothly, and clean the AGS 2010 banquet.

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Excellence in communication (in English).
  • Responsibility, ability to plan, prepare and clean the banquet.
  • Creativity to decorate and set up the Banquet Hall beautifully.
  • To be able to dedicate your time to the preparation of the banquet.
  • Attend the banquet on November 20th (Sat.) 2010.

 
Club Row Committee

The purpose of the Club Row Committee is to provide publicity for Alpha Gamma Sigma by promoting AGS at the Club Row event every semester. Members are responsible for assisting in the overall project of making the booth and promoting the club by attending meetings for design and ideas, and conversing with Committee Members and the Chair with their respective opinions.

OBJECTIVES:

To provide publicity for AGS by promoting AGS at Club Row.

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Meet with ICC Reps. when necessary to discuss and plan Club Row. Members must correspond with ICC Reps. by phone calls/emails/messages, even if unable to attend.
  • Those who do not communicate with ICC Reps. or are unable to participate in meetings will be dropped. Plan on meeting 1-3 times every 2 weeks.
  • Work with other members to plan/prepare for Club Row.
  • Help set-up booth for Club Row.
  • Help out at booth during Club Row, members will work in.
  • Help clean up booth at end of Club Row event.


Community Service Committee

This committee will be responsible for finding sponsored events.

Each member of this committee is responsible for finding a minimum of 4 sponsored events by December 21, 2010.

  • Find a minimum of four sponsored events by December 21, 2010
  • Be able to communicate clearly with organization in English.
  • Must be able to access a computer.
  • Respond to my emails within a 24 hour period.

 
Constitution Committee

An effective constitution and bylaws provide a structure for the efficient functioning of any organization.  AGS has a state constitution and each individual chapter has their own set of bylaws. This committee will meet weekly to help review, analyze and propose revisions to the Alpha Gamma Chapter constitution.

Election Committee

This committee shall encourage nominations for chapter offices, and shall report to the chapter all qualified candidates who have consented to run for office.

OBJECTIVES:

 We will organize the process in which all elections are run in AGS. We shall be responsible for ballot distribution and collection, and provide the ballot summation for all electoral procedures taken in AGS. 

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Members must not be planning on running for an electoral board position for the spring 2011 semester.
  • Members must attend be available to attend the day and evening meetings on the following dates. This means you do not have a class scheduled at the times that the day and evening meetings take place: November 4, 2010 and November 18, 2010.
  • Members must be available on Friday, November 19 during the daytime to count ballots.

Finance Committee

The duties of this committee are to plan, organize, and conduct fund-raising activities.

Headers Committee

This committee shall consist of general members trained to lead events under the direction of the Executive Board.

Historian Committee

This committee shall coordinate the photography of each AGS event.

OBJECTIVES:

The historian committee is to correct visual images in order to use them for variety of reasons. These may be used for proof of events that are attended, or these can be used for communication usages.

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Attend a minimum of five (5) sponsored events.
  • Submit at least ten (10) per event.
  • The pictures must show members actively participating in AGS events.
  • Pictures must be in good quality.
  • Write a short description accompanying each picture recounting the name of the event, the date and time, as well as activities that were performed.

Newsletter Committee

This committee is responsible for helping produce the newsletter each month.

This committee shall publicize all activities of the chapter on the campus, in the campus newspaper, display case and in the community newspaper when possible. Items publicized must be approved by the chapter.

  • Each committee member will help decorate the AGS display case by the Business building three (3) times over the semester

  • Each committee member will as directed by committee chair help advertise/promote AGS. This may be done through posters, flyers, bulletin boards, The Corsair newspaper and more

  • Each committee member is responsible for attending committee meetings, responding to emails and keeping in touch with the committee chair


See's Candy
See's Candy Committee

Members in this committee will have to sell 2 boxes of See's candy in order to raise funds for AGS.

This committee shall develop a calendar of social events that provides a balanced program of social, enrichment, and cultural activities. The committee shall see that all necessary arrangements are completed one week prior to each event.

  • At least attended general day or evening meetings.
  • Distribute, read, gather, and help members with field-trip forms.
  • Help committee chair with information, distribution and meeting games set-up.
  • Attend at least one committee meeting and have access to computer for further cooperation through e-mails.


Student Relations Committee

Create AGS original design T-shirts and/or other apparels for selling general members. T-shirt design contest may be held on the AGS conference.

  • Being able to be in good communications with the chairperson and responding to calls, texts, and emails.


TV Taping Committee

This committee will organize the TV-tapings and attend these events. This committee shall also ensure that all of the scheduled TV-tapings will be attended by all members who have been scheduled for it.

Website Committee

This committee shall organize and coordinate activities necessary for updating and maintenance of the chapter's website.

FUNDRAI$ER$:


You must do two fundraising activities to meet club requirements. For example: attend TV tapings and/or sell See's Candy. . If you decide to sell See's Candy, you must sell 4 boxes to fulfill requirements. (Note: you can combine fundraising activities, for example attend one TV taping and sell 2 boxes of candy.)


 

See's Candy

The purpose of selling See's Candy is to raise funds for AGS. It also serves to fulfill your committee/fundraising requirement.

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

For one fundraiser you must sell two (2) boxes of See's Candy priced at $30 each.

TV Taping Committee

This committee will organize the TV-tapings and attend these events. This committee shall also ensure that all of the scheduled TV-tapings will be attended by all members who have been scheduled for it. You must be in this committee in order to be able to go to a TV Taping, unless otherwise stated by a committee chair.

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

For one fundraiser you go to one TV Taping. You can get credit for two TV Tapings if you drive someone to a TV Taping.
